I have a 32 year background of working in the NHS, firstly as a nurse and then later in Occupational Therapy. I am highly experienced in dealing with elderly people who have dementia, Parkinson's Disease and other age related conditions. My passion is helping people to get the most out of life and to make their life as fulfilled as possible, for as long as possible. I am fully insured and CRB/DBS checked.
I appreciate the pressures and demands of caring for someone 24 hours a day and the effects that it can have on your own health and family life. The stress and upset of placing them in care whilst you take a holiday or have to go into hospital yourself can be overwhelming. I also offer 'respite at home' giving up to 12 hours night time cover which gives you peace of mind knowing they are being cared for in the comfort of their own home. Being in familiar surroundings will greatly reduce the stress and anxiety caused through disruption to their daily routine.
My aim is to give your loved ones the highest level of care, companionship and support to ensure their health and well being, both physically and emotionally. One to one quality time will help them to live a more fulfilled and meaningful life, through hobbies, outings, shopping trips, group activities or just companionship in their home.

I like to do more than just the 'ordinary' when I spend time with your loved one. Examples of this are outings to vintage cafes, museums, stately homes, the cinema, the theatre, bus and boat trips - all of which create nostalgia and help stimulate memories which we can then talk about and share. I have also taken my clients to social events such as singing groups, dancing groups, bingo, games afternoons and pottery painting classes. These activities help to integrate them socially which leads to increased self confidence and helps them to feel more connected to people and less isolated.

Again all these activities are very engaging and stimulating to help bring about memories, conversations and enjoyment. Whatever is important to your loved one is important to me. I will always do my best to bring them the most happiness through play, activities or quiet companionship.
